Does selecting a birthday gift for your mom this year, seem more challenging for some reason? Often moms are among the easiest to pick a gift for, because this is a time where they may be thinking about the thought behind it. But don't just wing it. Really put the thought in! With a little extra effort, you can help make this one of your mom's most memorable birthdays.
One approach that may work great is to ask her what she wants. Hopefully she will say a few things so it can be a surprise, or just maybe thinking what she says might bring you an idea that is even better. Be creative here, but remember who your mom is, and what she thinks about her birthday.
Take time to really think about all your experiences with your mom. What little things did she see on the shelf then put back and move on with the grocery shopping? Where does she shop beyond groceries? I know you will know your mom very well; however there may be those things she might never say. If you notice something she doesn't feel anyone notices it might make her birthday. Gifts are a great way to show you notice, and care.
One possibility if she can't call as often as she would like due to long distance charges, a prepaid phone card might be a great idea. Then she can call a lot more often. Don't forget to call her too though.
There are always the large varieties of candy out there. Though putting a little bit more thought looking, you might find a better level. Often you can get candy shaped, or in ornamental jars, baskets, vases. What's her favorite color? Maybe you can put her favorite chocolates, in a vase that is her favorite color, and maybe even a few fruits too. Creatively make this her best birthday to date.
Some mothers don't agree with the status quo. They love things like auto racing, camping in the wild, logging, building, driving off-road, and more. They are refreshing as they show there is life out there. While they probably still like flowers, chocolate, and many other things; not as much as they love their fishing pole, chainsaw, or mud on their tires. There are many choices for them too, though seriously pay attention to the details of what they really like doing. Choices such as tools, power equipment, vehicle enhancements, fishing tackle, camping gear, generators, are just a start of what is possible.
Yet another idea would be to make things yourself. A photo album that reflects more of the photos your mother would put into it. Maybe if you can pull it off, get some of the photos in there with better descriptions (possibly direct from those in the photo with their personalization).
These are a few ideas, and hopefully they help you to find that perfect birthday gift for your mother.
